One Lungers is a project that started as a short documentary about a vintage snowmobiling club in central Minnesota, Long Lake Vintage Snowmobile Racing. The original production took place in late 2013/early 2014. After principle filming completed, there was a realization this hobby was much larger than just clubs of people racing on Saturdays and Sundays, so we decided to widen the scope of the story. What we discovered was a group of like-minded, friendly people who were passionate about the hobby and welcoming to anyone who was interested.
Ultimately there was a theme to all of these stories but also a small gap between what we discovered at Long Lake and these other locations. We decided this showed a nice cross section of everyone involved in the hobby but also a humanitarian story with the events at Long Lake. To put them together as one film seemed to lessen their impact individually and created a story line that may not be as cohesive as we would like. It was proposed that we treat this as a series of short films, showcasing them individually, and the One Lungers webseries was born.

I would like to encourage everyone to check out the Andy Englund Story while on the site. That is really the piece that started all of this. Special thanks to theAndy Englund’s family and friends for opening their lives to us. Without their willingness to tell Andy’s story, One Lungers would have never been born.
